Overhead power lines are affected by wind, ice, low temperature and other meteorological conditions all year round. Wind not only causes overhead lines and pylons to produce horizontal loads perpendicular to the direction of the line, but also causes overhead lines to vibrate. According to the different frequency and amplitude, the vibration of overhead line can be roughly divided into three kinds: the breeze vibration of high frequency and small amplitude, the secondary distance vibration of middle frequency and middle amplitude, and the dancing of low frequency and large amplitude. Three kinds of vibration will cause damage to the overhead lines, and the breeze vibration is the most frequent one.

The main harm of breeze vibration is to cause the fatigue breaking strand of guide wire and the damage of the fittings and tower members. On the one hand, serious strand breaking will cause line breaking accident and affect the operating life of overhead line. On the other hand, breeze vibration also limits the increase of wire stress and hinders the reduction of transmission line cost.


Anti-vibration device (also known as damper, anti-vibration device, etc.), is specially designed to reduce the strength of breeze vibration, to prevent wire caused by fatigue break and installed on the wire of a vibration damping component, the vast majority of anti-vibration principle is to absorb the functional amount of vibration into heat energy or sound energy and emit, thereby reducing the amplitude of the wire, or most of the vibration traveling wave reflected back to the distance, Limit the transmission of severe vibration to vibration - resistant suspension points. In addition, insulator string, metal tools and tower also have a certain damping effect on vibration. The split wire connects the sub-wires together through spacer bar, so that each sub-wire can pull with each other, thus destroying and inhibiting the formation of the sustained and stable vibration of the split wire, and playing the role of interference and damping. The damping spacer bar also has the role of damping vibration.
